You will teach divers how to plan and organize dives with a dive computer using Enriched Air Nitrox with 22 to 40 percent oxygen and how to monitor nonstop limits and oxygen exposure.

To register for the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Instructor Specialty Course, you must:
- Be a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor or be currently enrolled or have completed an IDC/OWSI course within the past 12 months.
- IDC/OWSI applicants may apply for Specialized Instructor certification only after successful completion of the IE.
- Be a certified diver using Enriched Air Nitrox**
- Recent diving experiences – We recommend that you Review of diving Completed if you have not dived for 12 months.
- Good health and no congenital diseases that would be an obstacle in learning to dive.

When training is completed according to the requirements of All diving courses require you to provide proof of 10 recorded Enriched Air Nitrox dives.

Improving teachers’ knowledge in using Nitrox
The Enriched Air Nitrox specialist instructor course can be completed without dive training. Our Enriched Air Nitrox specialist course consists of two dives using Nitrox.
There is a knowledge development section that is done before we do diving training.
In the knowledge development section you must perform the following actions:
- Presents knowledge development from the Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty manual by teaching questions left out of the review.
- Review and understand the objectives and goals of the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty course.
- Reviews and explains the Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty course standards and procedures from the PADI Specialty Course Instructor Manual and lists all student and instructor equipment requirements.
- Demonstrate expertise in developing all knowledge
- Explains how to control all parts of the course in a way that allows the diver to meet the course requirements.
- Participate in a marketing and promotional workshop where you will learn techniques for promoting your Enriched Air Nitrox specialty course to students and the diving community.
- Participate in pricing workshops
Practical evaluation of instructors using Nitrox
There are two practical assessments you must complete:
- Oxygen analysis Check the air information in the cylinder and sign the aeration log.
- Demonstrate the steps for filling Nitrox and/or renting a Nitrox tank from a Nitrox filling station.
Nitrox Instructor Open Water Training
There are 2 Enriched Air Nitrox dives that we include as part of our Nitrox specialist instructor course but no staged skills are included.

During training dives in open water you must:
- Demonstrate mastery of all requirements for the Specialized Diver course using Enriched Air Nitrox.
- Providing teaching presentations on diving from the Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty Diver course.
- Demonstrate mastery of all requirements of the Enriched Air Nitrox Diver Specialty course in open water.
Upon completion of all requirements You will be certified as a PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty Instructor.
