To register for a PADI Instructor course you must:

  • Be a PADI Divemaster or equivalent
  • Have First Aid and CPR certification valid within the past 24 months.

To successfully complete the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), you will need to:

  • Successfully complete all online E-learning modules.
  • Attend knowledge development presentations led by all Program Directors.
  • Participate in a workshop led by All course directors
  • Offer at least three knowledge development teaching items with a minimum score of 3.4 in two of them.
  • At least four shallow water teaching sessions will be offered. with a minimum score of 3.4 in at least two items

To successfully register for the PADI Instructor Examination (PADI IE), you must:

  • Successfully complete an IDC or OWSI program within 12 months of PADI IE start date.

Orientation and Knowledge Development – Dive Instructor Course

You will need to have 60 dives recorded to start the course. As soon as you register, we’ll send you a Digital Crew pack of the Instructor Development course.

Once you have access to the code You can start IDC e-learning now. We recommend that you complete it before Day 1 of IDC.

PADI IDC course orientation

You’ll start IDC with a course orientation. We’ll issue you an IDC Crew Pack and review your digital documents, including:

  • PADI Release of Liability Agreement
  • Assumption of Risk
  • Forms required for diving
  • Understanding of PADI’s safe diving practices
  • PADI Medical Statement ( RSTC Medical Form )

From the table above The knowledge development of the Instructor Development course has 12 modules.

Each module has an e-learning section and within IDC eLearning this must be completed before offering courses led by the Course Director.

Knowledge development by the course director is included in the class schedule. along with presentations on the development of knowledge and development of aquatic skills and training of applicants.

Additional diving theory reviews will be outside of the regular course schedule. However, this can be done in cases where individual applicants wish to review further.

PADI IDC – Knowledge Development Presentation

Mock IE is scheduled for days 13 and 14, which are the key modules of our IDC programme.

During Mock IE, you will present the final knowledge development. This will be the final presentation to your course director before PADI staff assess you on PADI IE.

Before we begin the Rescue Diver course workshop and assessment, we include a demonstration of the Rescue Diver course skills.

Rescue – Panic Diver Workshop

We complete this workshop in shallow water or at sea. At the end, you will be able to demonstrate how to help a panicked diver at the surface. Using a variety of techniques

Rescue Diver Assessment
