Emergency First Aid Course (EFR) on Koh Tao

The EFR course is designed to ensure lifesaving in the face of medical emergency

It is also an essential requirement of the PADI Rescue Diver course if you do not have First Aid and CPR certification.

11.30 – 12.30: Lunch

12.30 – 17.00: Skills training and simulations

Final exam

You are now certified as an EFR scuba diver for the next 24 months.

EFR Scuba Diving Course Orientation and Knowledge Development

We begin our EFR scuba diving course at 9:00 AM with orientation.

Then I will review the development of knowledge. Including learning how to recognize life-threatening problems and prioritize emergencies.

We will talk about protecting yourself from bloodborne pathogens using the AB-CABS system for monitoring and monitoring the patient care cycle.

Your instructor will help you through your knowledge development and watch EFR videos that cover your knowledge development and teach you the primary and secondary care skills you need to master.

Teachers will integrate knowledge development with skill training. Your instructor will demonstrate each skill for you before giving you role-play and practice.

Developing EFR skills

Teaching of EFR skills and role-playing medical emergency situations will be done by an instructor and will include the following skills:

Basic first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills taught in this course:

• Situation assessment
• Use of protective equipment
• Preliminary assessment
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Management of wounds that bleed profusely
• Shock management
• Management of spinal injuries
• Management of conscious choking and unconscious choking

Recommended skills in the EFR curriculum

• Use an external external defibrillator (AED)
• Emergency oxygen use

First aid also covers injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life-threatening.

First aid skills taught in this course:

• Illness assessment

This course includes first aid for the following emergencies:
